1.6 I belong here

Finally, the next morning arrived. Anna had been awake most of the time, picturing the date in her head. She knew that it hadn’t happened yet, of course, but her imagination made it into the most beautiful day of her life. In her daydreams, he always greeted her by gently pulling her closer and placing a gentle kiss on her lips.  Then he smiled his beautiful smile and invited her inside. There, they would talk for hours and hours, occasionally touching each other accidentally. Sometimes on purpose, too. In the evening, when it was getting late, he drove her home in his truck and then brought her to the door of her little come. He looked deep into her eyes and she returned the gaze. They stood like this for ages, just holding each other closely and feeling what the other person felt. Understandably, Anna was unable to sleep after this.

She dragged herself out of bed and hopped into the shower. As the hot water dripped on her face – the shower had not been working probably for a few days now, but a handyman was too expensive –, she couldn’t help but drift back to her daydreams for a few minutes. As soon as she was out of the shower and dressed again, her cellphone rang. It showed his name on the display, and she froze for a minute. Was he going to cancel on her now? She wasn’t sure how she would take it, because this clearly would be a rejection. Her voice trembling, she answered the call. It was him, indeed, but he only wanted to confirm the details for the afternoon. His melodic voice made her feel safe and bursting with energy at the same time, and she smiled during the entire phone call.

Although the next few hours passed way too slowly, they were over eventually. Time to visit the ranch once more. When she got out of the taxi, the first thing she saw was the horses all around the house. This banished the bad thoughts from her head for good. He was home, and he was going to greet her in a minute. She knew better than to expect a romantic encounter as she had experienced it over and over in her dreams.

Shaking all over her body, she rang the bell. This time, she didn’t have to wait very long before the door opened and the man who had deprived her of all sleep the last nights stood right in front of her, smiling all over his face. So far, this was exactly like her dreams. She reminded herself of staying calm, of not letting her feelings overwhelm her, which resulted in awkwardly raising her hands to something between a hug and a shrug. “So,” she said, “we finally made it.” It was really hard not to get lost in his beautiful dark eyes. Again, she had to remember that this was not her dream. This was reality, and what happened would be for real this time. It was not going to be like her dream.
A second later, she was proven right. This was nothing like it.

It was even better. Without saying a single word, he put his strong arms around her and kissed her passionately. She just stood there in shock, not really knowing what to do and where to put her hands. It had been so long since someone had kissed her, and she was a little scared. But at the same time, a feeling of pure happiness flowed through her, capturing every fiber of her being.

When he let go of her, stepped back a little and bit his lip insecurely, she smiled. Then she took a step closer, embraced him and completely devoted herself to him and his touch. Time stood still and there seemed to be nobody but those two in the entire world.

Soon they took it inside, as if not to lose any time. This man seemed to be everything she had ever dreamed of, and she was not planning of letting him go ever again. She felt what he felt, without a single word being spoken.

When she looked into his brown eyes, practically devouring her, but at the same time savoring her, she knew she was in love with him already. She knew that there was nothing she couldn’t do, as long as he was by her side. As long as it had taken her to trust anybody ever again, it had been worth it. Every single minute of the inner fights and the insecurities ended right here.

Everything ended right here, on the freshly made bed of a man who had introduced her to the lovely world of horses and love. During everything that followed this thought, she felt like watching herself from above, as if she was not in her body. Watching the two of them filled her with peacefulness. This was what she wanted every single day to be like.

When she walked around the room afterwards to collect her clothes, she couldn’t escape that feeling of joy that spread in her stomach and soon filled every fiber of her body. She was proud, yes, and she was also happy about opening up to another human being. Her new life had really started, and she couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next.

Unfortunately, Jo got a call from his music company, where he was needed for some problems. This left Anna with the horses, since Jo’s roommate was still at work, too. She decided to brush the horses and feed them a little something. A slow and careful approach seemed the best way to gain their trust.

One horse approved of the brushing, but as soon as Anna hold out her hand, the horse neighed vociferously, and bared its teeth. Frightened, Anna stepped back and decided to postpone the rest of her plan for now. She still had so much time to get to know them. For now it was Jo who counted the most.

Author's notes: Why do my sims take ages to meet any people at all, but then decide within seconds that they want to go all the way with someone?

  1. Wow! Anna moves fast!

It is nice to see her with some confidence (or, you know, "pride"), though. And she gets to hang out with the horses! Bonus!

    1. I know, my sims often seem a little "slutty"...Oo They don't find anybody for ages, and as soon as they meet someone they like, it's "I'm going all in". Sigh.

  2. Whee! She finally connected with her man! I do hope it works out. From the back, he looks like Gunther Goth I'm afraid :) :).

I don't know how slutty it is. I mean, sims only live 90-100 days. The number of sim-hours it takes to build a relationship up to Woohoo would could for a lot of dates for us! Ha!

I agree with DW. It's good to see her decide what she wants and go for it!!

And I liked Jo better anyway.

Are you going to change a trait so that he matches the challenge?

    1. Another sim in AP looks exactly like him from the back, too! One or two days later she went to the festival ground again, and when she got out of the taxi, a man with long brownish hair and a BABY ON HIS ARM was walking in front of her. I was in shock for a few seconds, but then realised it wasn't Jo. PHEW!!

Sure, you're right - they don't have that much time. But my sims always go from friends to highest level of romantic interest and woohoo in one day. Almost always! Your sims don't do that.^^

I don't know......... technically, it wouldn't be forbidden, right? The rules don't state you can't change the rules. And I really want him and the horses to move in :) I'd only have to wait until he is at 10.000 lifetime points, but that won't take ages. If she loves him, she should have him forever. :)

    2. I absolutely think it would be within the rules to use the lifetime reward to change one trait to make him fit the generation. I also think it would be fun because it's a reason to use that lifetime reward :).

I hate having my sims pick up the first sim of the opposite sex they meet, talk them up, and then marry them standing on the sidewalk. I try to use the game mechanics to give them some flow of relationships like a human. Maybe their first interest isn't the right one, blah blah. Anna totally had that, though, since the first guy she was interested in wasn't the right one.

    3. Actually, you're right :D That makes it a little easier to accept. And since Anna seems to be head over heels in love with Jo, working towards that reward is definitely an option by now. (You know. If I get the game to run again.)

  3. Still working through these, but I'm so glad that Anna went for Jo in the end ... and that's not because he has my name! Or the abbreviation of it anyway! It is weird to keep reading my name all the time though :)

Jo (see, weird) honestly seems to care about Anna. Plus he has horses! Definitely a keeper. Right, on with the next one ...

    1. Yep, that must be pretty weird, sorry :D you will have to get through quite a number of chapters with that name coming up, I'm afraid. When I wrote my very first legacy, I gave the foundress my name (on purpose) - THAT was weird. But that was my own fault, too.^^

It's great to see that you're catching up! :)

  4. Yay I was rooting for Jo -- er, boy Jo, that is. I love how you wrote this; it all felt so real...I hate it when every legacy starts with the founder marrying the first person they meet in the bathroom or something.

I'm glad you mentioned that Anne wished to go all the way all at once; that was the one point where I was like, "uhmmm....ok then." Oh sims...
